Ewald Vineyard

The nose offers notes of ripe raspberry, cherry-cola, candied rose and blood orange. Cherry and red berry liqueur flavors are brightened by a smoky mineral nuance on the palate. The finish is spicy and long with silky tannins. Over a decade we've learned a few things about the Ewald Vineyard. The fruit at Ewald doesn't like to be picked too ripe and the wine doesn't like too much new oak. We've also been gradually increasing the use of whole clusters on this wine, as we find that their judicious use provides additional levels of complexity while maintaining the wine's refined fruit character.
